Ward teams participating in Cohort 1 are currently:
- Deciding their priorities for change as a team, considering the 12 Culture of Care standards, learnings from the in-person workshop in September, and any themes from focus groups held during their site visit
- Working with their coaches for project coaching for teams to define their change idea and develop a plan, in the second of five sessions which will take place over the next 5 months
- Preparing for reflective practice sessions facilitated by nominated team members, who are being supported by a 2-day training course, and ongoing group supervision
- Considering who to put forward for individual coaching sessions, to support their development
- Preparing to meet in December in our first Community of Practice event

Email usOur Training Workshop
On the 23rd and 24th September 2024, we met with over 175 members of staff for an in-person day of training in Birmingham. At this workshop, attendees heard from a range of experts and started to identify the priorities for change for their wards.
Alongside learning more about the Culture of Care standards, participants explored ways to practice therapeutic, compassionate conversations, and the impact of equity issues on wards, such as unconscious bias and privilege.
A summary of the themes discussed is shown in the graphic synthesis above.
Our Staff Survey
Across October and November, we collected 133 anonymous responses from members of staff working on participating wards. The aggregate findings from these are summarised in our highlight report.
Wards which submitted over the threshold of 5 responses will also have an individual report shared with them.
